Professional Intern and Graduate Assistant Positions - Nicholls State University

NICHOLLS STATE UNIVERSITY (FCS) – Thibodaux, La

 

Professional Intern (10 Month/PAID): Starts Fall Semester

Responsibilities for the Professional Intern position will include designing and implementing a strength and conditioning program for all assigned teams and assist with implementation of training programs for all athletic teams.  Programs will include, but are not limited to, strength/power, conditioning, and agility training exercises. This position will require constant communication with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, head coaches for assigned teams, and the athletic training staff.  Other responsibilities include daily maintenance and upkeep of the facility, updating social media sites, and completion of any other duties assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.  This is a 10 Month paid position.  Pay will be to the amount of $12,000 with housing provided.  REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Related Field, NSCA-CSCS or CSCCA-SCCC Certification, CPR/AED Certified.  PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS – Master's Degree in Exercise Science or Related Field, Nutritional Certification, Experience Coaching at a Division I level.

 

Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: Starts Fall Semester

Responsibilities for the Graduate Assistant position include designing and implementing a strength and conditioning program for all assigned teams and assist with implementation of training programs for all athletic teams. The Graduate Assistant will also be responsible for hiring internship candidates for Nicholls State University Strength and Conditioning. Other responsibilities will include designing a facility maintenance program, organization of nutrition room, updating social media sites, and daily weight room upkeep.  Constant communication from the GA to the Head Strength and Conditioning coach, head sport coaches of assigned teams, and athletic training staff of assigned teams will be required.  Other responsibilities will be given by the Head Strength and Conditioning coach when necessary.  This position is 2 years and includes paid tuition, and a stipend.  The position requires enrollment in at least 9.0 Credit Hours per semester.  Although tuition is paid, the GA should expect to pay roughly $400 in fees each semester. REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Related Field, NSCA-CSCS or CSCCA-SCCC Certification, CPR/AED Certified
