POSITION TITLE:                Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

CATEGORY:                       Full-time, Non-tenured Contractual Faculty (100147)

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assist the Director of Basketball Performance in preparing the student-athletes on the Women's Basketball team for the rigors and demands of intercollegiate competition through the utilization of total athletic enhancement training.  The primary function of this position will be to manage the total athletic performance preparation of the student-athletes to include: development of training programs; application of appropriate motivational techniques; instruction of student-athletes in the proper execution of weight training exercises, plyometrics, agility drills, flexibility training, speed improvement technique, and conditioning modalities; and communicating with appropriate coaching personnel regarding the needs and demands of the student-athletes.  Other duties include assisting with the Strength & Conditioning needs of Men’s Basketball student-athletes, assisting in the daily management of Intercollegiate Athletic Department weight training facilities, (includes the maintenance of a safe working environment) and assisting in scheduling team usage of training facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required.  National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certification required.  A minimum of two years of collegiate strength coaching experience preferred.  Knowledge and background in working with basketball student-athletes preferred. Ideal candidate will be experienced in program design and application for a broad range of training systems and sport applications. 

SALARY:        Commensurate with experience.
