The University of Maryland is currently accepting applications to fill four (4) Spring 2018 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the UMD Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Summer 2018 program (May 29-Aug 17), set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion of Bachelor’s degree by the commencement of the intern program/current pursuit of a graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa). The University of Minnesota Olympic Athletic Performance Staff is now accepting applications for its entry level intern position for summer 2018. Interns will assist the strength and conditioning coaches in the day-to-day operations of the department. In addition to working with men’s and women’s Olympic Sport athletes, interns will work through an educational curriculum that is based on their individual needs for professional development. This is a 16 week unpaid volunteer position. Successful completion of the internship will complement future consideration to move onto our Sports Science internship, working alongside Coach Cal Dietz.

The University of Connecticut football strength program seeks to hire two or more summer interns for Summer 2018. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. This is an unpaid opportunity to gain real world coaching experience. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. The goal of this internship is for you to develop the needed experience and skill to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career (i.e. becoming a graduate assistant coach). Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills.
Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor's degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, as a coach or athlete. If not already certified, you are expected to be in pursuit of you CSCS or CSCCa certification.
Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. Internship credit hours may be obtained.

The University of Kentucky's Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning department is seeking volunteer interns for the Summer 2018. Sacred Heart University is seeking two (2) Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches. These positions would begin in August 2018 and would be a 2 year commitment.
The purpose of this position is to assist with the year round development and implementation of Strength and Conditioning for all 32 varsity teams. Graduate Assistants will also assist any club sport or student that may need guidance in the area of Strength and Conditioning.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: please list all major tasks for which position is responsible.
- Assist in areas of coaching Strength and Conditioning with all 32 varsity sports.
- Daily cleaning of all equipment in Pitt Center weight room.
- Assist with scheduling usage of teams and clubs in the Pitt Center weight room.
- Tracking and Data entry for all 32 varsity sports
- Program Development for assigned areas by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Assist in areas of coaching Strength and Conditioning with assigned club sports.
- Assist in areas of student life and wellness.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED: State minimum formal education level and specialization necessary. State additional professional or technical knowledge or years of experience required.
Bachelor degree in Exercise Science or related field (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA)
Experience in a College Strength and Conditioning setting.
CSCS through the NSCA or SCCC through CSCCa
Duties begin 8/1/2018.

Wright State University is seeking two (2) volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the summer of 2018. This is an UNPAID position. Accepted applicants will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, as well as the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum.
Required qualifications: First Aid/CPR/AED training, the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, the ability to commit to AT LEAST 20 hours per week, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, or in the process of obtaining any or all of the aforementioned certifications, and previous coaching experience.
Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, intern curriculum assignments and projects, and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise.

The Weber State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a temporary part-time position with the opportunity to renew. The position will remain open until filled. The position is subject to a university background check.
Responsibilities: Assisting in all aspects of the daily operation of the Weber State University Strength and Conditioning department, as well as working with 2-3 teams as assigned by the strength and conditioning staff.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field from an accredited university, CSCS or SCCC certification, 1-2 years strength and conditioning experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with softball and women’s basketball.
Preferred Requirements: A master’s degree in a related field, successful completion of internships and a graduate assistantship. CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; demonstrated ability to manage and supervise team training sessions and assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the strength and conditioning facilities.
