Hey Lakers46 -- I used to work at Harvard in S&C (now down at Duke) and ran the intern program there - we worked with some students from Lassell over the years. Contact Tim Mullen at tmullen@fas.harvard.edu if you're interested in doing an internship -- they have a huge number of teams and are always looking for people to help out.

Hello Coaches;

I could use your assistance. I am a new father and need to solidify a coaching position. Whether it be an Assistant Coach or Head Coach position, I am eager to do my best and apply my knowledge (Master's degree and 20 years in the field) to support the college, and athletic department in all ways necessary. Please contact me, as I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Michael Bugielski

Hey Aaron, I live in Boston, lots of Colleges and Universities nearby. BC and BU are the 2 closest but also the school I graduated from Lasell College and Stonehill to name a few. My only experience thus far in Strength and Conditioning was starting a strength and conditioning program for a High School, I mainly worked with the football team but also saw some other kids from time to time.

Where do you live. Any Universities near by?

At this point I'm completely expecting to work for free, and I'm just trying to find where I might be able to get a foot in the door. As far as I've been able to see the only place in my area (Boston) that offers a Masters in Kinies, is BU which would be well worth it, but I just want to research the program and curriculum as best I can before hand, thanks again for your help.

This sites good, but try to hit up some clinics. Just call schools to see if they need help. Like I said prepare to work for free.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the input. Yeah I know its different from personal training, which is why I've been trying to get my CSCS, and researching that, NASM PES, and CSCCA as well but I've taken the CSCS twice already. I'm hoping to use this site as well as Facebook, to try and network with other strength coaches as best I can and try to see what's out there.

First things first, you are going to have to intern, or volunteer. Working in the field of strength and conditioning is different then personal training. It is a demanding field that's hard to get into. So you also need to get out and network with other strength coaches, the more people you know the better chances of getting into the field. Yes you are going to have to get your cscs or look into getting the cscca cert it is excepted in the field as well. Cscca.org
