            The University of Arkansas Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting internship applications for the 2012-2013 school year.  This is a 2 semester unpaid position working with Olympic sports with the possibility of extension.  Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship.  

           Applicants must be a junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in an exercise science related field.  They must possess a strong work ethic, be punctual and enthusiastic, and must have athletic experience at the high school or collegiate level.  Interns will receive experience working with high level SEC athletes, learning about programming, coaching, running and lifting techniques, and will have the potential to earn recommendations toward future jobs in strength and conditioning, as well as credits toward a degree program.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe

Position Announcement: Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach (3 positions) at The University of Louisiana at Monroe. Duties and Responsibilities: The University of Louisiana at Monroe is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach (GASCC). The GASCC responsibilities will include assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff with the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all 16 ULM intercollegiate athletic programs. Daily duties to include mentoring student-athletes during training sessions, set-up/breakdown of training drills/tests, proper maintenance of equipment and other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements: Must meet all requirements and be admitted to the ULM Graduate School. Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science is preferred. Prior intercollegiate strength and conditioning coaching and/or playing experience is preferred. SCCC and/or USAW certification is also preferred. Graduate Assistants at ULM receive full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Stanford University is accepting applications for Intern Sports Performance

Coaches to contribute exclusively to the Football program.  This

unpaid opportunity provides experience assisting the Football Sports

Performance Coordinator implement an individualized, comprehensive injury

prevention and performance enhancement program specific to Football.

Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and

demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required

qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in

Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to certification in

CPR/AED.  Preferred qualifications include certification as SCCC, CSCS, or

USAW with previous experience as a collegiate athlete or intern coach.  This

internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 25, 2012 .

South Dakota State University is currently accepting applications for a qualified and highly motivated individual looking to further develop their skills, as they relate to strength and conditioning, through an unpaid summer internship.

Expectations of the intern include the following:

  • Provide safe and effective coaching      on all lifts, movement mechanics, soft tissue and mobility/flexibility      work
  • Willingness to assist in daily maintenance      and upkeep of both student-athlete facilities
  • Strong communication, leadership,      integrity, self-confidence and a willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality,      enthusiasm, positivity and a desire to improve one’s self for the      possibility of future endeavors in the field
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 20      hours/week

Preferences of the candidate include the following:

  • Pursuit of future career in strength      and conditioning as demonstrated by pursuit of professional certifications      (CSCS, CSCC, USAW) and/or continued pursuit of undergraduate degree in a      sport science or related field
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certification

FAST PHX and Scottsdale are now hiring for (4) paid/unpaid internships.  These internships are put in place for inspiring strength and conditioning coaches to get hands-on training and to get a working knowledge of the ins and outs of running a strength and conditioning program.  You will learn to work with athletes of all ages and training levels.  These internships are for those who are pursuing to sit for their CSCS certification and who want to further their careers in strength and conditioning.  Must be able to work at least 15 hours a week.  For more information please contact Eric Reed at

University of South Carolina (FOOTBALL)

The University of South Carolina Football Strength and Conditioning department are accepting applications for the position of Football Intern for the Summer Training session (10-weeks).  There are two positions available.  This is a highly competitive and demanding internship.  The daily responsibilities will include:

Brown Strength & Conditioning is now accepting applications for our summer internship program. These individuals must demonstrate the ability to monitor, assist and report on daily programming for youth, high school and amateur athletes competing in a variety of sports.

Our downtown Raleigh facility is equipped with a complete line of state of the art Atlantis equipment as well as an Olympic lifting platform complete with Eleiko bumpers. We also have a complete set of strongman implements as well as prowlers and battling ropes.
