Arizona State University Sports Performance Internship
The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique, facility upkeep and exposure to a diverse array of 21 sports in a high paced environment. As an intern in the ASU Sports Performance program you will have the opportunity to gain real world in the trenches coaching experience; you will also learn under the bar while training in the program. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skills to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career – this typically being a graduate assistant coaching position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Sports Performance Coach at the collegiate level.
In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. A strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certification with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW.
This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance.
Internship credit hours may be obtained.

Colorado State University is looking for two Strength & Conditioning Interns.
TITLE: Strength & Conditioning Intern (2 positions) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in health and exercise science, physiology, anatomy, kinesiology or related field; current CSCS and CPR/First Aid certifications required or CSCS in process; minimum of two years’ strength and conditioning experience in intercollegiate athletics required, preferably at the NCAA Division I level. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the strength and conditioning staff with supervision, maintenance and oversight of two weight rooms that service 16 NCAA Division I (FBS) men’s and women’s sports; assist with the design, implementation and oversight of strength training and conditioning programs for specific teams and individual student-athletes as assigned. POSITION: Full-time, temporary position (no benefits) reporting to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach; appointment begins July 1, 2011, and runs through June 30, 2012; base salary of $16,000; additional summer camp/clinic employment possible; reappointment (with benefits) possible for 2012-13 year. The University of Memphis Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of aspiring strength professionals to fill two (2) Paid Summer Internship positions. The role works primarily with the Tiger Football team throughout the summer while assisting with any other teams per the request of the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist Strength and Conditioning Staff in all facets of implementation of weight training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, maintain team and individual records, assist in the regular maintenance and upkeep of the facility, motivate both small and large groups of student-athletes, and have a passion for the strength and conditioning field. The prospective worker will gain valuable collegiate level work experience and exposure through various training modalities centered around vertical integration, Bod Pod assessment, Polar Team2 Heart Rate System usage, orthopedic assessment, and sport massage. At conclusion of the Summer Internship, there will be a potential opportunity to stay on the staff as a Graduate Assistant working primarily with Olympic athletic teams as well as assisting with the Football team beginning in the Fall 2011 school year. Advancement is based on performance and compatibility within the Tiger Strength department as well as acceptance in the Graduate School at the University. Interested individuals with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or related field, previous experience working in team setting weight training, current or working towards certification with the NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa, and current CPR/AED First Aid Certification. Corey Taylor’s Sports Performance is seeking a self-motivated, confident, team-oriented person who wants a career in developing superstar athletes. New college graduates with athletic experience are highly encouraged to apply. Candidate will be the direct link to athletes, delivering all levels of athletic development programs. Evaluates and assigns appropriate training measures for athlete development. Judges athlete’s progression through various stages of programs and implements various protocols as needed under the guidelines established by Corey Taylor Sports Performance.
Responsibilities include: training and scheduling athletes; implementing all levels of athlete development programs; pre- and post-program testing; making day-to-day training decisions; educating athletes about their specific training needs; data entry for test results; maintaining an upbeat, outgoing attitude towards all clients and staff; sales, including up-selling and marketing; maintaining relationship with parents, coaches and athletes; additional responsibilities as assigned by Facility Director.
Qualifications: Prefer bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or closely related field; CPR certification; professional certifications with accredited agencies, such as NSCA, NASM, USAW etc.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate with bonuses.
