Arizona State University Sports Performance Internship



Job Description:

The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique, facility upkeep and exposure to a diverse array of 21 sports in a high paced environment. As an intern in the ASU Sports Performance program you will have the opportunity to gain real world in the trenches coaching experience; you will also learn under the bar while training in the program. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skills to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career – this typically being a graduate assistant coaching position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Sports Performance Coach at the collegiate level.



In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in an exercise science related field.  Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. A strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certification with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW.



This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. 

Internship credit hours may be obtained.

Central Connecticut State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. CCSU competes at the NCAA Division 1 level, and is a member of the Northeast Conference for all sports. Football competes in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.

Description: Central Connecticut State University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach. This is a 12 month position reporting directly to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. Applicant will be responsible for design, implementation and supervision of strength, speed, agility and quickness programs for teams as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. They will also assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with Football. Applicant must also possess good organizational and communication skills. Applicant must be able to demonstrate and teach all Olympics lifts.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field, master’s degree preferred. CSCS or CSCC with USAW certification and prior experience at the collegiate level required. Extensive coaching experience with Olympic lifts and knowledge of conjugate/concurrent periodization is preferred. A criminal background check will be required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment. Personal qualifications desired are a highly motivated individual that is professional and dependable.

Compensation: $27,000 -$29,000.

GA position for Idaho State University Strength and Conditioning will not take any more resumes after june 20th 2011. So if you are certified and have at least 1-2 years experience than please get your resume to me, ASAP.

Pepperdine University is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position of Strength and Conditioning intern for the Fall 2011 semester. Essential job functions for the position include, but are not limited to: assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning and assistant strength and conditioning coaches in developing and implementing strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for the University’s intercollegiate athletic teams; assessing student-athletes' physical attributes to improve athletic performance; maintaining weight room and equipment; daily contact with sports medicine staff regarding athletic injuries and rehabilitation procedures; input of testing data and daily/weekly updating of speed, strength, and conditioning workouts; provide discipline and motivation to student-athletes to excel and improve; performing miscellaneous related duties when necessary.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Applicants certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) preferred but not required. Current CPR certification is a requirement. This is an unpaid position.

Colorado State University is looking for two Strength & Conditioning Interns.


TITLE: Strength & Conditioning Intern (2 positions)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in health and exercise science, physiology, anatomy, kinesiology or related field; current CSCS and CPR/First Aid certifications required or CSCS in process; minimum of two years’ strength and conditioning experience in intercollegiate athletics required, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the strength and conditioning staff with supervision, maintenance and oversight of two weight rooms that service 16 NCAA Division I (FBS) men’s and women’s sports; assist with the design, implementation and oversight of strength training and conditioning programs for specific teams and individual student-athletes as assigned.

POSITION: Full-time, temporary position (no benefits) reporting to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach; appointment begins July 1, 2011, and runs through June 30, 2012; base salary of $16,000; additional summer camp/clinic employment possible; reappointment (with benefits) possible for 2012-13 year.

The University of Memphis Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of aspiring strength professionals to fill two (2) Paid Summer Internship positions.  The role works primarily with the Tiger Football team throughout the summer while assisting with any other teams per the request of the Director of Strength and Conditioning.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist Strength and Conditioning Staff in all facets of implementation of weight training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, maintain team and individual records, assist in the regular maintenance and upkeep of the facility, motivate both small and large groups of student-athletes, and have a passion for the strength and conditioning field.  The prospective worker will gain valuable collegiate level work experience and exposure through various training modalities centered around vertical integration, Bod Pod assessment, Polar Team2 Heart Rate System usage, orthopedic assessment, and sport massage.  At conclusion of the Summer Internship, there will be a potential opportunity to stay on the staff as a Graduate Assistant working primarily with Olympic athletic teams as well as assisting with the Football team beginning in the Fall 2011 school year.  Advancement is based on performance and compatibility within the Tiger Strength department as well as acceptance in the Graduate School at the University.  Interested individuals with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or related field, previous experience working in team setting weight training, current or working towards certification with the NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa, and current CPR/AED First Aid Certification.  Send all applications to include letter, resume, and three (3) references to Josh Medler at in a timely fashion to be considered for a position.  AA/EOE
