Ethan Reeve
Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
Ethan Reeve is in his seventh season at Wake Forest, coming from Ohio University in 2001 to guide the Demon Deacon strength and conditioning program.
Reeve, who spent six years with the Bobcats, was a two-time All-American and four-time SEC champion wrestler at the University of Tennessee. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, serving as assistant coach/strength coach for wrestling for two years.
He also assisted with wrestling at Oklahoma State, Ohio and Clemson before serving as the head wrestling coach at Chattanooga from 1984 to 1990 where his teams won five Southern Conference titles.
Reeve is certified through USA Weightlifting, Russian Kettlebell Challenge and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
He was the strength coach for the U.S. women's rowing team that won four gold medals and one silver medal in the 1995 World Championships. He returned to Ohio in 1995 to become the director of strength and conditioning, working closely with the football program. He also designed and oversaw the Carin Center, Ohio's athletic strength and conditioning facility.
Reeve and his wife of 21 years, Susan, have three children, Callie, Erin and Keaton.
David Bass
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
David Bass begins his fourth season at Wake Forest as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Bass works directly with the Deacon women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's golf teams He also assists strength and conditioning coordinator Ethan Reeve with football.
Bass joined the Demon Deacons from James Madison University where he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach for 2 years. While at JMU, Bass earned his master's degree in exercise physiology. He received an undergraduate degree in physical and health education from Concord University in Athens, W. Va. in 2001. While at Concord, Bass was a three year starter on the Mountain Lion offensive line, earning all-conference honors his junior and senior seasons.
Bass is certified through the Collegiate College Strength and Conditioning Association, USAW and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Todd Hedrick
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Todd Hedrick is in his second season as strength and conditioning assistant at Wake Forest coming from Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville NC. Hedrick spent six years as Strength and Conditioning coach and spent two years as an assistant football and track coach while at FCDS. He played football at Clemson University from 1985-88, lettering two years.
Hedrick is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the Collegiate Strength Coaches Association (SCCC) and United States Weightlifting (Sports Performance Coach). Coach Hedrick works with the men's and women's soccer and tennis teams and also the Deacon Volleyball team. Coach Hedrick and his wife Mary have been married for 14 years and have 3 children.
Kelly Zarski
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Kelly is in her second year on staff and first as an assistant. Her first year was spent as an intern where she worked with all of Wake Forest's varsity sports. She now works with Women's Basketball, Women's Golf, Men's Golf, Women's Tennis, and Cheer and Dance as well as assistanting Coach Reeve with Football.
Kelly graduated from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania where she lettered in softball. She is certified as a Certified Strength and Condtioning Specialist through the NSCA.
