Corey-

I'll actually take the percentages off their true 1 RM.  I do this because I test them and know that it is an actual max.  Also, I only do this with our Junior and Senior student-athletes so I am pretty familiar with what they can do.  There is no doubt the 5-3-1 works great.  Take it easy.

Corey-

Thanks for checking out our video.  She is an upperclassman on the team.  For our upperclassmen we use a variation of Wendler's 5-3-1.  That was actually her last set at an estimated 85% max.  On the last set, we let them do as many reps as possible as long as the technique stays solid.  All other sets that day (75% & 80%) were performed for 5 reps.  We were planning on her doing 5-10 reps, but were not going to stop her.  Even for anaerobic sports, I am a big believer in high rep squats.  Great for hypertropy, core strength, and conditioning.

Corey,

No problem. I was just curious I worked for Ike when I was a student assistant at Iowa State University. He was and still is one of the best coaches I have been around. Tell him hello for me. Thanks.
