Jeff,

Your best bet would be to begin trying to get in touch with as many coaches as possible right now. I know some teams don't use any interns, and some use multiple interns during specific times of the year. With the regular season coming to a close in about a month I would begin contacting coaches ASAP. The off-season program for the majority of teams will begin in mid-March. I would try to get in with a team around that time frame. I hope this helps, feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
