Rockwell International-North American Aircraft Operations - HR PRIDE AWARD - Staffing and University Relations-1988. Leader in front-line recruiting roles, and in hands-on management roles, a history making recruitment team that hired an average of 5,000 high tech professionals per year for three (3) consecutive years at Rockwell International’s North American Aircraft Operations division in Southern California. A feat unheard of and unmatched in any industry, earning the accolade, in 1988, of “Team’s Top Recruiter,” from then North American Aircraft Division, President, Sam F. Iacobellis (Ret.); In 1990 named “TOP GUN Recruiter…one of the best in the business” by Hispanic magazine, and called the “Red Adair of recruiting by Aerospace Engineering magazine. Of particular note: At Rockwell International – North American Aircraft Operations –Based on outstanding performance Valentino Martinez was promoted five times in three years, from Grade Level 1 Recruiter to Grade Level 12 Manager – Employment and University Relations.
Among his many awards Martinez received the prestigious national PERICLES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for “Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Human Resources” in 1989 by the Employment Management Association (EMA) a national organization which later merged with the Society of Human Resources Management – SHRM, who later changed EMA to SMA--Staffing Management Association. The newly established Bravo Award” from Hispanic Times magazine and the Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists MAES)—was awarded to Martinez in 1992. Martinez also earned the National Distinguished Service Award in 1989; the Total Affirmative Action Award from Equal Opportunity Publications, in 1989 & 1990. Valentino Martinez was also presented with 2 National Awards for his efforts in support of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) in 1992 & 1999. In 1989, Martinez was listed in WHO’S WHO WORLDWIDE.
