Isn't there a cost to exercise?  Think about it.  Any training session that presents a decent challenge to a trainee costs something.  No, I'm not talking about monetary terms, but rather human cost.

I think too often the cost of single bouts of training are not calculated into the big training picture that affects not just muscles, but bones, connective tissue, heart/lung function, physiology, inflammatory/immunity response, social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual response. 

I try to look at the big picture of training, minimize the PRs and 1RMs and budget for the whole all-inclusive package.  As the Capital One commercial says, "What's in your wallet?"
