Some of the best things you could do as a coach is add variation to your programs. Our program has become better by adding things most programs dont use. Making lifts multi-planar by incorporating not just a sagital plane overhead press we use our hips to help with the press and also use a press out to our side to help with the frontal plane. Another way we have helped our programming is by adding some rotation in movements like the RDLS and opening the hip up. More coaches should use unstable surfaces, single leg stance, split stance to help their programs. Also, the dumbbell 1 arm clean is a great lift that people dont use.
