Good point. I think coach intended to say that his wrestlers' anaerobic capacity increased with the high intensity non-traditional training as opposed to their anaerobic power.

I believe 4-6 weeks is too long for changing things up.

anaerobic is the explosive work!! non-traditional strength can be developed from hard physical labor like working in the hay fields (i agree). some people have it naturally and some athletes really know how to focus and recruit more muscle while performing in the skills of there sport. its hard to beat mental focus and muscle recruitment. some just do it better than others.
