Sorry that i won't be able to attend, but thanks for the invite. If you could send me some presentation notes, etc. that would be great.
Being in the UK makes it hard to get to these events.
Thanks Again

"Hi Jason,
Thanks for the invite but I don't think I will be able to attend because I do leave in the UK.
But thanks again if you could send me any of the presentation material that would be great.
Check out my blog at www.fit2fight.blogspot.com it´s mainly in spanish as i´m latino but regardless i´ve uploaded some excellent articles by great strenght training gurus like Pavel, Staley and Smitty Diesel, log on when you get a chance and let me know what you think!
Bodyweight is always a great foundation, so stick to push-ups, squats, sit-ups, and their variations, for push-ups and squats try the Hindu versions. single limb training is excellent, chin-ups and neck bridging are a must. Actual drilling of skills is in itself specific strenght development for your sport so you should never neglect it.
Sledgehammer is vital for combat athletes, tire flipping, sandbags, chains are excellent pieces of equipment and are not expensive, actually they´re quite cheap.
Stuart, sorry I did not get back to you. The MB combo I like to use in the off-season/pre-season time and I mainly use it with hockey, lacrosse, and could be good with american football as well as wrestling. If you do this you will see that there is a definite anaerobic component as well. Hope it is useful to you and thanks for the note. Best JR
Hey Stuart, to answer your question, I'm not a strongman athlete. I do some strongman training...tire flips and some stone lifts. The video you saw was from East Carolina University. They have a strongman comp every year. Some of the equipment they use (farmer's walk handles, Log, Yoke, and prowler) came from the company I work for. I'm not too sure how they set up the competition.
Hey Stuart, no problem man. My son is throwing shot now for T&F, but his main sport is American FB and wrestling. Here's a few vid's we took of him a few weeks ago.
Hi Stuart. I see that you are S&C coach for a b-ball club, that's great. Well to answer your question, imo it's like training a quarterback in American-style football or a pitcher in baseball, you have to train them w/o interfering with their high level of skill and finesse it requires. That has to be considered as the greatest priority, watching out for that, and then everything else come secondary. That's why I had prehab first and foremost for b-ball players, then SPP, etc. To answer your other question I only coach my son for his sports. I'd love to get in somewhere but I just got cert'd too old. What's been your greatest challenge training b-ball players?

we don't typically show off max strength but there were some doubters. i'm going to get some more up in the coming weeks of his training.
Definitely!
