I had a tendency to release the Discus too early...with it going off to the right of the throwing sector...often out of bounds.
In this photo you can see a Field Goal Post in the distance. I often hit that Goal Post and the CLANGING sound could be heard from a good distance. Interestingly, my practice sessions were at the same time a High School Football Team held their practice on an adjacent field.
After every CLANGING sound I would hear an applause from the team!
